Sam Maloof Woodworker by Sam Maloof, softcover
Sam relates how it all started in the opening of Sam Maloof, Woodworker. “It was 1948, I was thirty-two years of age, and I decided I wanted to be a woodworker. From the day I started I have been able to make a living working for myself and doing what I like to do: work in wood. I love the feel, the character of wood, no matter what the species and I enjoy making objects that are both functional and beautiful. My aim is not for recognition or for monetary reward. Working with my hands is a joy. It gives me a sense of fulfillment – something so many seek and so few find – and for this I am thankful.” We are all thankful for the beauty and joy his love of wood has given us.
